Available by phone for 15 minutes to see if we are a good fit.
This appointment (usually 1 hr. & 15 min.) is when we begin our work to explore your need for treatment and if I will be able to help you with those needs. I discuss your diagnosis with you in order to start our team work and also to establish the foundation for your insurance coverage. There will be some life history discussed on a general basis so that I know your background.
My hours are 9 AM-5 PM for Monday through Thursdays.
Our office is now mask optional. I ask clients to have telehealth, if they may be contagious. I generally wear a mask since I am high risk.
Before an assessment can be scheduled, you will need to complete an Intake packet. An authorization for services may also be necessary. Please be prepared that the assessment and treatment planning process may take one or more sessions before we begin with therapy interventions. This is my effort to evaluate what intervention(s) I may offer you that may best meet your needs in a safe and effective way. It also gives us a chance to build trust, which may be very necessary for good work. Feedback, offered kindly, is welcomed.
Many clients ask, “How often do people attend therapy?” It depends on your needs, but many clients attend weekly, twice monthly, or once a month (which is the least that I work with someone.) I can only offer twice weekly appointments only to help resolve a crisis. The level of my services is on a Basic Behavioral level (not Intensive Outpatient, ACT team, or CST team). If your needs surpass Basic level, I will be happy to help get you connected to a higher level of treatment.
I work mostly with clients with EMDR, yoga therapy for a mind and body approach, Tarot to tap into your insight to your solutions, or DBT/CBT for skills work . This is to offer a more comprehensive approach to meet your needs. You will be able to select what is the best fit for you. I encourage in between session work and/or a connection to community groups to help meet your goals more effectively.
